The opening ceremony was performed by the Mayor in front of over 40 guests and supporters of the Furniture Project including representatives of Guildford Borough Council, The Guildford Poyle Charities, a number of volunteer bodies, The University of Surrey Accommodation office and many other organisations. ?xml:namespace> “Everyone is welcome to visit us” said John Atkinson, Manager. “We are open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and we can collect from or deliver to homes within Guildford Borough, for which we usually ask for a small donation to cover costs.”
John continued “Our stock can vary, so come and see what we have. We find people are increasingly keen to avoid furniture going to waste and to landfill and with more furniture being offered to us, we need to have more space to display and store it, hence our need to expand into the new showroom.” ?xml:namespace>END Click here to return to the News page |
